In 1976, when Marcos Resende recorded his debut album with Index, he had hoped to release it with Creed Taylor’s famed CTI Records. Although a deal with the label almost came to fruition, it fell through and the album was shelved by Marcos who had other priorities working with the likes of Gilberto Gil, Edu Lobo, Gal Costa and Carlos Dafé, as well as making music for TV and film.
45 years later, Marcos Resende & Index’s lost self-titled debut album is almost here…

Legendary electronic auteur Bernard Szajner‘s 1980 LP Some Deaths Take Forever is being reissued on vinyl for the first time, this January via Cortizona.
Originally released on Pathé in 1980, the influence and the impact of Some Deaths Take Forever is still vibrating: Carl Craig mentioned it as his all time favorite album in Future Mag, the signature sound of Oneohtrix Point Never feels almost like a not so hidden tribute and the killer sci fi electronics of tracks Ressurector or A Kind Of Freedom resonates through the discography of Air and Daft Punk, to name a few.
The album’s first ever vinyl reissue will feature 5 previously unreleased tracks taken from the same recordings sessions, as well as liner notes by Karel Beer and John Olson.

Coming end of November, Slater has also planned the very first reissue of his seminal techno album as Morganistic ‘Fluids Amniotic’ since its release in 1994. He released very limited cuts with this moniker but had a strong influence and has been supported by pioneers of the genre such as Jeff Mills or Robert Hood. The LP has been remastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis from the original DAT and reel-to-reel tapes.

Up next on Adiel’s Danza Tribale label is the legendary Progetto Tribale project, this time featuring Donato Dozzy.
Progetto Tribale was born in 1992 under the mentorship of Giancarlino, and executed by a team that included Pietro Micioni, Paolo Micioni, D.RaD (a.k.a Stefano Facchielli), and Giancarlino himself. Based on a deep combination of African rhythms and soul music, Progetto Tribale gained great success, particularly with “Behaviour.” Volume 6, the project’s last release, came over 24 years ago.
In partnership with two of the original members, Pietro and Paolo Micioni, Dozzy has reignited Progetto Tribale. Volume 7 features three original productions with Dozzy, real name Donato Scaramuzzi, plus a modern interpretation of “Behaviour” by Dozzy and Pietro Micioni.

Danza Tribale will release Volume 7 on July 30th, 2020.
In 2018 Far Out Recordings signed a record deal with Brooklyn born, nomadic producer Jneiro Jarel. Having just put the finishing touches to the recordings, Jarel suffered an ischemic stroke while living and working in Costa Rica and his wife Indigo was forced to set up a crowd fund to cover special medical transport back to the states to receive treatment. The release was put on hold, but thanks to the generosity of friends and fans around the world, Jarel was able to get the care he needed and is now on the long road to recovery. We’re overjoyed to finally announce Jneiro Jarel’s After A Thousand Years is now set for a October 2020 release.

Throughout a career that has spanned over twenty years and seen collaborations with MF DOOM, Thom Yorke, Damon Albarn, BadBadNotGood, Portishead’s Beth Gibbons, Kimbra and Khujo Goodie (Dungeon Family), Jneiro Jarel’s consistently distinctive, forward thinking productions, as well as his love for the music of Brazil, made his partnership with Far Out a perfect fit.
Recorded between New York, New Orleans, Miami and Costa Rica, Jarel’s forthcoming album After A Thousand Years features legendary multi-instrumentalist Bill Summers, famed for his work with Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones and Eddie Henderson. The album also features Malawian-American guitarist Masauko Chipembere who has worked with the likes of RZA from Wu-Tang Clan and Ladybug Mecca from Digable Planets.
On lead single “Banana Peel”, Jarel’s outernational perspective makes for a track that is almost impossible to place geographically: you can hear the swing of Jarel’s native New Orleans jazz, the vibrance of Costa Rican rainforests as well as the influence of Jarel’s vast collection of Brazilian records.
