Greetings! The department of Luun proudly present an exclusive workout featuring an alliance of moon-hovering sub-standards. The Sjukt (pronounced The Shookt - meaning "the sick," as in far-out rather than hospitalized ) is the alias of the one and only Diskjokke and half of Mungolian Jetset and Luna`s co-founder Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus, two of the most prolific figures on the norwegian dance music scene for the price of one. Together they have melted their minds into the machine and returned with these nuggets. This EP showcases two feverishly pounding pieces of machine-made-flesh for the ears 'n feet alike. "Ghost In The Machine" is a deep 'n chunky spacey trip to the far-out spheres, incorporating elements of psychedelic disco and exotic samples. It`s one of those journey tunes that takes you down the rabbit hole and further in with an almost dreamlike surreal texture to it. "Bug In The Machine" is a bit more direct in its approach and is exactly what the title promises. A simplistic tech-house stomper fueled with bugged-out squeaks, sounds and riffs aimed at the out-of-the-body feeling of three a.m. clubbing.
Words might sound swishy-swashy in descriptions of dance records, and these are of no exception. However, you`ll get what we mean when you hear 'em. And as our label has a name that incorporates moon, madness and movie shows into it, we feel that this release is perhaps the closest contender to actually fit that description. A proper Lunaflicker then... Now, go on - catch the fever!
